About usThe SOLAR ENERGY Society is a non-profit organisation. It is a forum for all those interested in the advancement of the utilisation of the sun's energy. Members of the Society are drawn from industry, government, academic institutions, architectural and engineering practices, as well as the general public. Academic qualifications are not a pre-requisite for membership. During the past 30 years solar energy research and application has come a long way. We are proud to have played an important part in this. Our membership has been supportive and active throughout. Join UK-ISES The SOLAR ENERGY Society represents the UK national section of the International Solar Energy Society (ISES). ISES has launched a world-wide information system for renewable energy, WIRE. This is a resource website for fast, comprehensive and up-to-date information on renewable energy. The Solar Energy Society has close links with other renewable energy organisations and government bodies, and is thus able to promote solar energy in all its aspects. The Society has organised over 60 national and international conferences on selected specialist topics. It publishes technical books on solar energy and provides information through its newsletter and other documentation to its members and the general public. Society members receive the newsletter, and discounts on publications and conferences. The Corporate Members 2005 of the Solar Energy Society (UK-ISES) SunDay is an annual event
and is expanding rapidly across Europe. Anyone who is involved in the renewable
energy field, or even just interested, can become involved in organising a
